TUTORIALS & LIVESTREAMS
The Vector Sequencer is a digital sequencer with an analog-style control format, centered around two large OLED displays and nine encoders. A shallow UI allows for quick navigation across all edit pages. Intuitive graphics on each edit page make it easy to know where you are.
The Vector is a true collaborator for your musical adventures. Whether you are into generative sequencing, chance-based options, sequence modulation or a bit of everything, it's all here. Start simple with a few ideas, use the generator to make some new patterns, then take it as far as you like.
Thanks to a variety of CV & MIDI connection options and flexible routing, the Vector plays well with all of your gear. Sync & sequence your modular, desktop synths and plugins all together.
The Vector sports numerous parameter lanes to get you started: Pitch, Pitch Glide, Gate Time, Groove Timing, Velocity, three lanes of MIDI CCs, Step Length, Step Repeat, Ratchet and two sets of Chance Operations. It's super easy to start with a few steps of Pitch and Gate values, then add in other lanes as needed.
Unique to the Vector, Chance Ops allow you to quickly add both controlled variation and randomization to your sequences. You can assign one of dozens of operations on each sequence step, with assignable probabilty and even per-bar or per-pattern variations. Operations include mute, un-mute, skip, un-skip, jump, ratchet, accent, and 27 pitch operations. The Vector MkII has two complete sets of Chance Ops for each of its eight parts.
The Vector sequencer includes the sophisticated pattern generation (GEN) and evolve (EVO) functions from Numerology, here expanded with new algorithms and parameter controls. Anytime you run into a creative roadblock, the generator is there to add some fresh ideas to your track.
The Vector gives you eight Parts with per-Part Presets, Playlists and Scenes so you can build full tracks, indeed even a complete peformance within a single project. Flexible assignment for all analog and MIDI I/O makes it easy to interface with your gear. Need more I/O? Check out the expander module (more on it in a bit).
The Vector has comprehensive options for both internal and external modulation. Each of the Eight Parts on the Vector comes with two sub-sequencers that can be used to modulate paramters on the main sequence, or can be output via CV for extra system modulation. Each sequence can also be modulated from two CV inputs on the front panel via per-Part modulation busses.
In addition to Monophonic sequences, you can setup Parts 5-8 on the Vector as four voice Chord or Drum parts. Use the built-in chords or go full custom. On the drum side, you can route your triggers to the Expander, or go with MIDI and custom note assigments. You can even spread voices across adjacent MIDI channels.
On the Recording page, you can setup any MIDI input to be used for step recording, real-time grid recording, MIDI transposition, and MIDI thru. There is also a full-featured arpeggiator with latch, octave and sorting options.
Plug in a Novation Launchpad X, Mini Mk3 or Pro Mk3 and get instant top-level control over Part selection, per-Part and per-lane mutes, Presets and Scenes. There's a keyboard page for recording sequences, and edit pages for Monophonic, Chord and Drum Parts.
When you need more ins and out, the 8hp Jack Expander module adds loads more I/O in just 8 hp of space: 8 CVs, 4 Gates, 8 Triggers and MIDI In & Out on 3.5mm TRS adapters. The first 3 triggers can be setup as inputs for manually stepping sequencers from external sources, and all triggers can be used as clocked-outputs, drum triggers or gate outputs for Parts.
